"There are so few Tempranillo in BC that it's a treat to get one, and even more special when it's done in a softer European style. Where we often find deep and heavy reds in the southern Okanagan, this is a rounder expression, with great balance and a supple delivery.
We lightly chilled our bottle and gave it little time to open. Cherry blossoms, cherries, vanilla, raspberry, and light clove on the nose, followed by bright red cherry, light raspberry, soft cocoa, white pepper and even a little anise on the palate. Very fine tannins balance quite well with the medium acidity. The overall experience is very pleasurable and reminiscent of our time in Spain.
I'm not surprised it's so well done, Mark Simpson has all the skills, these vines are barely a kilometer from the border and produced this excellent rendition of Tempranillo. Limited stock, releasing shortly and ready to drink."
